Universal oil with unique lubricating and penetrating properties that lubricates, cleans, protects, removes moisture, separates rusty and stuck parts. Forms a moisture-repelling oil film against rust, corrosion and oxidation. Safe for all surfaces: metal, plastic, rubber, paint and wood. Some bottles (this product photo) have the innovative Smart Straw sprayer solution - the guide tube is integrated directly into the sprayer, ensuring ease of use. 2in1 innovative solution - two spray jets with one sprayer - precision spray and fan spray.

WD40 Company has been supplying the whole world with top-quality universal grease based on aerospace technology for over half a century. The reliability of the company is confirmed by the fact that in many countries the abbreviation "WD-40" has become synonymous with multi spray. The brand of the company based in California, USA is known in more than 160 countries.
With literally thousands of uses, WD-40 is the world's most popular all-purpose grease. To list all the applications of WD-40 - if at all possible - would take too long, so here we list the five main functions of WD-40. WD-40:
  • MOISTURE REPELLENT
  • PROTECTS AGAINST RUSTING
  • OILS
  • PENETRATES THROUGH RUST
  • CLEANSING
WD-40 is used in industry, arms trade, transport, living etc.
Where does the peculiar name of the product come from? The abbreviation WD-40 comes from the laboratory diary of chemist Norm Larsen, where he noted in 1953 that he succeeded in making a special anti-corrosion agent on the fortieth attempt: water Displacement, 40th attempt (repels moisture, 40th attempt).

Operating temperature -20°C to +90°C.

Areas of use:
  • Lubrication of all moving parts - door and window hinges, locks, switches, power and hand tools, chains, bearings, etc.
  • Rust removal from garden tools and equipment
  • Protects battery terminals from corrosion
  • Car spark plug lubrication and maintenance
  • Protection of bicycle frames/chains from rust
  • Removing rust from power tools
  • Cleaning an engine dirty with lubricant
  • Clean the dirt from the exhaust pipes of the car

The product complies with the specification NSN 8030-01-418-9006.

Color:
light amber
Scent:
Weak characteristic smell
Thickness: 0.0025mm to 0.0076mm

FEATURES:
CORROSION PROTECTION Tested on freshly ground mild steel panels
EXPOSURE Salt spray (ASTM B117):
RESULTS 0% rust after 72 hours

In actual conditions, the duration of use of WD-40 will vary depending on the type of material to be protected and the exposure conditions. In general, mild steel is protected by the following:
1. Covered or indoor storage for 1 year or more
2. Protected outdoor storage for 6 months to 1 year
3. Normal outdoor exposure for 30 to 60 days
4. Severe outdoor exposure for 15 to 30 days (at or very close to the beach, high humidity, salt spray and salt tables).
If longer protection is desired, WD-40 should be lightly reapplied as needed.

LUBRICATION:
DYNAMIC COEFFICIENT OF FRICTION
Tested on heat treated 4340 steel with a plain blue oxide film smeared against it with WD-40
BEARING PRESSURE COEFFICIENT:
1000 kPa 0.112
5000 kPa 0.113
10,000 kPa 0.121
15,000 kPa 0.131
20,000 kPa 0.138
30,000 kPa 0.146

ELECTRICAL Dielectric strength
ASTM D-877 38,000 V. per 2.5 mm. Contact resistance ASTM B-182 modified.

EFFECT ON MATERIALS
GENERAL:
Almost all materials react to WD-40 in the same way as to high-grade aliphatic petroleum gasolines.
the same exposure, i.e. spraying, rapid immersion or prolonged immersion. WD-40 does not contain silicone, PTFE or
chlorofluorocarbons.

RUBBER:
There are no visible effects on the surface of different types of rubber sprayed with WD-40. Certain types of rubber swell when immersed in WD-40 for long periods of time.
HIGH STRENGTH STEELS:
(to embrittle with hydrogen)
Certified as safe by the Lawrence hydrogen fusion test.
FABRICS:
The following fabrics were exposed to WD-40 without effect, light soiling can be expected that was easily removed with naphtha or dry cleaning solvent: nylon, orlon, wool, dacron, cotton.
PAINT SURFACES:
Many types of paint on various surfaces have been exposed to WD-40 with no effect. Wax polishes and certain wax coatings can be softened by WD-40.
PLASTICS:
The following plastics were immersed in WD-40 for 168 hours with no visible effects:
• Polyethylene
• Formica
• Epoxy
• Delrin
• Polypropylene
• Acrylic
• Vinyl Teflon
• Polyester
• Nylon
  • Clear polycarbonate and polystyrene may stress or crack when exposed to WD-40.

USE:
• Spray
• Friction
• Or put a detail in the substance

NOTE. Applying Permanent Coatings to WD-40: Best results are achieved by cleaning the surface. Mineral spirits, lacquer thinner, steam degreasing or alkaline cleaning agents are suitable.
